A suspected incendiarism attack at a nature reserve has destroyed 5 acres (two hectares) of heath.
The fire at Chobham Common, off Staple Hill in Surrey, started at concerning 21:40 on Monday and was tackled all night.

The heath is home to over three hundred plant species and is managed by Surrey life Trust, that aforesaid the fireplace had badly broken the protected web site and will have affected reptiles and snakes.
